Laundry

Dear Sean,

If your plan is to convince me not to do laundry, the knee high grass under the clothes line is perfect.

Love, Me

PS. I love you (even though you hate gardening!)

I Heart Fridays

Fridays are absolutely my favourite day of the week. The reason? Fridays are swimming lesson day!

Max gets so much joy out of his weekly half hour lesson. He splashes, kicks his little legs, jumps in off the side of the pool, swims under the water and blows bubbles. So cute. It's so amazing to see how confident he has become compared to his first lesson 6 weeks ago. And just secretly... I enjoy going to the lessons just as much as he does!

In other news it's Poop Week here at my house.

Yesterday I accidentally trapped Cooper in Max's room and he pooped (horrible, nasty, diarrhea poop) all over Max's carpet. I have no idea why. He was trapped in there for about 5 minutes. Maybe he freaked out, or maybe he has a sore tummy. Like I said, I have no idea.

I arranged for a carpet cleaner to come out today and just as well I did. This morning I went in to get Max up, and he had taken off his nappy at some point during the night and done a massive poo (diarrhea as well, WTF!) all over his bed. It seemed fresh (tmi?) so hopefully he hadn't been rolling around in it all night... Anyway the carpet cleaner is here right now so hopefully he'll get the smell out along with the poo stains.

I hope your Friday is awesome too!

Point and Shoot

One of the projects that I'm currently working on is a photo wall in one of our hallways. I wanted a newish photo of Max to add to the photos, so this weekend decided to sit him down and try and get the perfect photo.

Max wasn't in the mood to sit still and smile though and most of the photos turned out like this...

Cute, but not exactly the picture I was aiming for!

Head on over to FatMumSlim to see what everyone else did this weekend.

My Little Action Man

I don't know if boys are different to girls, I only have Max. But I do know that this little guy is nuts!

When he climbs up on the couch he now likes to run along it as fast as he can. He will climb anything he can find and he loves standing up on his ride on hippo and riding it like a surfboard.

Like I said, I have nothing to compare him with so I don't really know if this is normal or if I'm breeding a thrill seeker...

We have one of those great indoor play centers just around the corner from home and Max loves going there. The other day I decided he had out grown the baby area and introduced him to the wonders of the toddler area. He loved it!!

I took this little video of him on my phone while we were there. (please excuse the extremely dodgy camera work, I decided to crawl through the tunnels ahead of him in order to get the best angles - I'm wild like that ;) - no easy feat)

This One's For You Ez

My BFF Erin commented the other day that she hasn't seen a lot of photos of Max lately. So I've gone one better and taken a little video of him being adorable.

He is such a little monkey!

Number Two?

Max has been sick for the last couple of days. Which means he has been clingy, moody, sweet, cuddly and tired. All at the same time. But I don't mind. When I'm at home with Max my whole day revolves around him anyone, and that's how I like it. We do want he wants when he's awake and I do what I want in the three or fours that he naps for each day.

It's got me thinking about what will happen when we have baby number two. Sean and I have always planned that we would have at least two kids. Probably three. We've also always said that we would like to have them nice and close together.

Which means that the time has come. The time where we planned to start trying for baby number two. I'm not sure how that's making me feel.

Part of me feels excited... The part that takes imense joy in hearing my husband say that he is ready for another baby. The same husband that made me wait so long for Max!

The other part of me is scared to change things. Max is my whole world and I like it that way. He gets my undivided attention everyday. I'm at his beck and call and he knows it. During the day when Sean's at work he is all mine and I'm all his. I think we both like it that way.

Baby number two is going to change that. Forever. And I'm not sure if I'm ready for that.

Weevils - Yuck

We have an ongoing problem in our household. Weevils in our pantry. Well I think they're weevils, I don't really know. I like how the word sounds though. Weevils.

What I don't like though is the way the breed and multiply in my pantry leaving almost everything in there unusable.

Even though I always do a really thorough clean out at the first sight of them, the problem is always back within a couple of months. Nasty.

So, that brings me to today. 8am on a beautiful Sunday morning and I've just spent the last two hours throwing out food, scrubbing shelves and checking for weevils.

I've got rid of all my screw-top glass jars (the weevils get into them really easily) and started replacing them with airtight Maxwell and Williams jars (the weevils don't seem to be able to get into them). I already had about half a dozen and found some on sale at Myers yesterday. 40% off meant I got 9 jars for $30. Bargain! Only problem is I need about 14 more. I would have bought them all yesterday, but I had to blow half my weekly budget on paying my overdue phone bill*. The nice kids at Vodafone wouldn't let me upgrade to my iPhone whilst I had an overdue account.

It kind of leaves me with a conundrum. I like to do things on the spot (Gen Y anyone?). So I would love to go back to Myers next week and buy the rest of the jars. Only problem is that because I got them for 40% off I don't think I can justify paying full retail for the rest... It just seems wrong.

I think I will have to force myself to wait until they go on sale again and stock up then.

In the meantime my pantry can look like everything else in my house. Kind of ok and completely unfinished!

* I permanently have an overdue phone bill. One of the things I am truly bad at is paying bills on time. If I had've made New Years Resolutions this year maybe paying my bills on time would have been one of them. But I didn't make resolutions and my bills are still all overdue.
